“Choco” Medani Lands T-Mobile Commercial

Green River College freshman Amaechi “Choco” Medani was recently featured in an April Fools T-mobile commercial.

Choco, 19, was born in Seattle but comes from a Nigerian background. With accumulating more than 50 videos on his YouTube channel “Choctivity”, Choco has managed to surpass 200,000 views on his channel., where he regularly posts comedy videos of his own making. He also has an Instagram, “chocovsameachi,” which has over 8,000 followers. Some of his posts have thousands of views.

In May of 2017, Choco decided to join Seattle Talent to take his talents and passion of acting to the next level. “It was a little quiet for a year…just hoping and waiting for something to happen,” Choco said. Not knowing why things were moving so slow, Choco patiently waited for his chance and never lost faith.

At the beginning of Mar. 2018, Choco received an email: “We’re casting for a T-mobile commercial, we need dancers, singers, skateboarders, and soccer players.” Choco knew this was his chance at being a part of something big, because apart from his interest in acting, his other passion is dancing. Choco submitted a dancing video on a Friday and got a response within one day. They were astonished by his amazing dance skills and charisma. Two days after Choco sent the video, he got a “You’re in” by the director.

Choco went to the fitting the next Monday and met the directors; they said that this commercial was going to be for the new T-mobile-sidekick April Fools joke that will be aired on national television for a month. “It felt like I was in a movie,” Choco said. The production value on the set was something that he has never seen in person and was mesmerized by observing the time and effort that goes into a one-minute commercial.

Choco has recently auditioned for another project that is confidential at the moment, but we still wish the best for him and his success.
